What are the effects of surface sizing on the properties of printing paper

① It can increase water resistance and surface strength of the paper and reduce surface picking in offset printing;

② It can improve paper printability. If there is too little glue on the surface, the paper will absorb too much binder in the ink during printing, resulting in dullness. On the contrary, if there is too much glue on the surface, it will slow the drying rate of the ink, resulting in set-off and bright spots;

③ It can increase paper erasability, surface sizing can reduce the penetration of ink, so it is easy to erase the ink. It will increase anti-friction ability of the paper;

④ It can increase the strength of the paper, such as bursting strength, folding strength and tensile strength;

⑤ It can reduce the two sidedness and distortion of the paper.
